Slovak Paradise offers many options for great adventure and hiking. In addition to interesting places and prospects that are worth visiting, the greatest attraction is gorges.. It is these gorges that we will talk about in this article that offer adrenaline transitions using ladders, risers and footbridges over the beautiful waterfalls. If you can't decide where to go for your next hiking, we'll try to make this choice easier.
We will start with the most visited gorge during the entire tourist season, the Suchá Belá gorge. If someone mentions the Slovak Paradise, people usually think of this gorge among the first thoughts. It is the most easily accessible gorge in the entire national park, as its beginning is located directly in the tourist center of Podlesok. In this tourist center there are several buffets and restaurants that you can visit after returning from Suchá Belá. The gorge is 3.7 km long, you will have to climb approximately 420 m and the crossing should not take more than two hours.
Malý Kyseľ was once part of the now open Ferrata in Kyseľ, but today it is already a separate gorge considered one of the most characteristic gorges in the Slovak Paradise. Despite the fact that this gorge is one of the shorter gorges in the Slovak Paradise, it offers a number of wooden footbridges, ladders or risers. The gorge is 2.2 km long with a passage of approximately 1 hour and 220 m elevation gain.
Veľký Kyseľ is another gorge from the Kyseľ valley, located in the northern part, right next to a small sour. Even this gorge is not lagging behind others and provides tourist experience as well as all gorges of the Slovak Paradise. The passage of three waterfalls created on the rocky stages of the gorge can be overcome using metal and wooden ladders or risers that must not be missing in the gorge. The gorge is a length similar to a Malý Kyseľ - 2.2 km with a passage of approximately 1 hour and 260m elevation gain.
This gorge is considered the most exposed and at the same time one of the wildest gorges of the Slovak Paradise. Veľký Sokol is also the longest gorge in this national park. It is 5.5 km long, its passage takes about two and a half hours and a 305 m elevation gain awaits you.
Ferrata in Kyseľ has been one of the most popular activities in the Slovak Paradise in recent years. Thanks to the members of the Mountain Rescue Service in the Slovak Paradise, the transition is this gorge, which burned over 40 years ago again. The gorge is located directly below the monastery, is 1.4km long with a passage of approximately 2 hours and 179 m elevation gain.
Sokolia Dolina arouses great respect, because thanks to its massive rock formations with characteristic waterfalls is also one of the most exposed gorges in the Slovak Paradise. In the hike, you feel as if you are walking through nature that no person has touched. It is located in the heart of the Slovak Paradise and getting to the beginning may require a piece of effort. The length of the Sokoli valley is 2.5 km with a passage of approximately 2 hours, where you also have a 437 m elevation gain.
Piecky gorge is another of many beautiful gorges of the Slovak Paradise. It is one of the quieter and calmer gorges. It is ideal for couples because it is said to be a very romantic gorge. Obviously, even in this gorge, there are many wooden footbridges, ladders or risers. The stoves are 3.3 km long with a passage of no more than 2 hours and a elevation gain 303 m.
If you ever plan to visit the Kláštorisko, we definitely recommend a hike through the Kláštorská roklina. It is a great choice, because there are several waterfalls, a set of ladders and risers in this gorge. The gorge is 1.2 km long with a passage of approximately 1 hour and 220 m elevation gain.
The Zejmarská roklina is the shortest gorge of the Slovak Paradise. Although the length of this gorge is 1 km with a passage of approximately 45 minutes with a 227 m elevation gain, it contains everything that every gorge of the Slovak Paradise has. So you do not have to worry that you do not pass through beautiful waterfalls, footbridges or beautiful surrounding nature.
